Oak is one of the most popular species used in flooring. It emits a natural light brown hue, with “Northern” white oak being more uniform in color that coming from other regions. The select grade has a tight close grain pattern which gives the floor a consistent color. White oak offers up different looks depending on how the tree was sawed – plain sawn, quarter sawn or rift sawn.
Grade Description
This grade of white oak maintains consistency emanating minimal color variation, sound sapwood, and few tight solid pin-size knots. There is also limited streaking. White oak is a true classic flooring choice has been installed into thousands of homes since the late 1800s and still remains a popular choice today.
