Sophisticated and elegant, cherry is considered the premier North American hardwood. The best color and grain in the cherry market comes from the Midwest. The grades vary from formal classic tones to more casual light or dark coloring. As cherry ages its tone darkens and character markings become more distinctive. Color can range dramatically between individual boards, with shades ranging from light to dark reddish-brown to light pinkish hues. Cherry is 25% softer than red oak.
Grade Description:
This grade of cherry will contain prominent color variation between the light sapwood and the dark heartwood. It may contain small, solid knots and some mineral streaking. This makes for a floor that still maintains stylishness with warm casual ELEGANCE.
