We offer douglas fir softwood planks that feature warm-toned hues, from light reddish-browns to yellowish-tans. The colors can develop a more pronounced, salmon-orange patina over time when finished. These predominantly tight, straight-wood grains can showcase rustic character with wavy patterns or knotted appearances.

Montana Buckboard Fir

Travel back 100 years in time to the wild west, where cowboys roamed the land and saloons were bustling. Our Montana Buckboard wide-plank flooring is produced using massive old-growth lumber and solid wood boards. We use traditional milling processes to develop that classic, rugged appearance that’s reminiscent of the past.

These planks have a solid profile with visible surface saw marks. This fir hardwood flooring is sold unfinished and includes tones that are typically light brown, red and yellow with darker growth rings.

Sweet Grass Frontier Fir

Pay homage to the 19th century, which offered an expansive frontier and pure land opportunities for those who braved a massive migration. Pioneers traveled across plains with everything they owned in wagons, and they were welcomed by towering douglas fir evergreens.

These great timbers became the supplies for the frontier towns you picture today. A part of their story lives on as our reclaimed, softwood fir flooring. Our Sweet Grass Frontier fir showcases authentic history with a natural, aged patina and random markings.

Yellowstone Prairie Fir

Honor this country’s heritage with our Yellowstone Prairie fir wood flooring, which uses repurposed planks from the old wood structures that built the American Frontier. After the first National Park opened, more settlers made the journey to live among magnificent forests and geological marvels. Frontier folk used long wooden planks and timbers to build anything their town needed, from homes and country stores to textile factories.

Our reclaimed wood once made up the sides, rafters and flooring of these structures. You can see the history in every detail, from the saw marks left by production methods over 150 years ago to the holes where original carpenters drove nails in. Dark knots, natural aging and exposure to all four seasons make this flooring one-of-a-kind.

Glacier Grainery Fir and Pine

Grit. Determination. American pride. That’s what our Glacier Grainery fir and pine flooring is made of. In the mid-1800s, pioneers settled on vast expanses of land and cut massive old-growth trees to start a new life among farmland and grazing fields. After building homes and barns, another structure took shape — granaries, which created dry storage for grain.

As this lumber aged for over 100 years, it absorbed the weather and earned its battle scars from wear. With original saw marks that have darkened with age and textured surfaces from knots and nail holes, these boards are the definition of rustic. We’ve preserved these boards and prepared them as flooring planks so their history can live on.
